Frequently Asked Questions

Fill out the contact form and we will schedule a free 15-minute consultation. During this time we will talk about what you’re looking for and determine if we are a mutual fit. I will also answer any questions you might have about the therapy process or logistics. Once you’ve filled out the form, you can typically expect to hear from me within two business days

Yes! Virtual sessions are done through a secure video platform. All you need is access to the internet and a space where you can be by yourself for the appointment. In person appointments are available for clients located in the Atlanta area.

235 E Ponce De Leon Ave, Suite 220, Decatur, GA 30307

My office is located in a small office building in Downtown Decatur. My office is on the second floor of the building and the space is accessible via an elevator on the first floor.

Parking is free and directly behind the building. You will be asked to pay for parking upon arrival, but I will validate your parking so that you won’t be charged.

For all insurance plans, I am considered an Out of Network provider. However, my services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. Please know that you will be responsible for the fee at the time of our sessions, and some of the fee may then be reimbursed to you through your insurance company.

Note: Your insurance company will require a medical diagnosis from me, and this diagnosis will remain in your treatment record. Health and treatment records are typically requested by insurance companies when you apply for life insurance and disability insurance.

Before our first session, give your insurance company a call. Here are some questions about your coverage that might be helpful to ask:

* Do I have coverage to see a behavioral health provider who is “out-of-network”?

* Do I have “outpatient mental health benefits”?

If the answer is YES for both questions, then also ask:

* Do I need authorization for the visit(s), and if so, how do I get authorization?

* Do I have an out-of-pocket “deductible” (a sum you’ll have to pay before your company will begin reimbursing you)? If so, what’s the amount?

* How much of my deductible have I met for the current year?

* What percentage of the provider’s actual fee does my plan cover?

NOTE: Some companies limit the amount they will reimburse for a service to a percentage of a capped fee that they determine is “reasonable and customary.” These capped fees are often substantially lower than the provider’s actual fee.

This depends on your insurance company. Please make sure you call your insurance company to find out if you are required to get pre-authorization for the visit. Sometimes insurance plans will not reimburse you for services they have not authorized in advance.

As an out of network provider, I don’t file claims on behalf of my clients. However, I am happy to provide you with all the paper work you need to file claims. If your claim is approved, your insurance company will reimburse you for the amount they’re responsible for.

Yes! I have a strong background in university mental health and have worked in campus college counseling centers for 5+ years. I LOVE working with college students of any age and young adults not in college. Emerging adulthood is such an exciting (and stressful) time and I love supporting folks who are navigating this period of life.

I currently  work with youth aged 17 and up in a therapeutic capacity. While I do not do formal therapy with folks younger than 17 at this time, I am thrilled to work with younger people in workshop spaces.

If you are seeking support for obtaining an abortion in the Southeastern United States , I recommend contacting Access Reproductive Care-Southeast. Here is a map of abortion funds in the United States and Mexico that can offer support in other areas. Here are some recommendations in finding the right clinic for you from the National Network of Abortion Funds. I commend you in exploring the options available to you!

If you are currently seeking therapeutic support for a time-sensitive reproductive matter, such as an upcoming abortion, please make a note in the subject line of your email (via my contact page) so that I can be sure to get back to you as quickly as possible.
