I have worked with youth in individual and group therapy settings, as well as in community social justice spaces. Working with youth is a joy because youth have huge imaginations, and it is refreshing to hear and see the worlds that they can envision. I am firmly anti-adultist. John Bell of YouthBuild USA defined adultism as “the belief that adults are better than young people because they are adults.”
I have a strong background in university mental health and I currently work with youth aged 17 and up in a therapeutic capacity. I am thrilled to work with younger people in workshop spaces. While I do not do formal therapy with folks younger than 17 at this time, we can work together on liberation (which is intrinsically therapeutic).
